The origin


Amēlo, pronounced uh-mee-lo, comes from the Old French word amel, meaning enamel.

Why we traded the drill for a lab coat

Because we saw the damage of the busy lifestyle every day in our clinic.

For years we sat chairside as dentists and saw thousands of smiles. And for all those years we gave the same advice:

“Brush twice a day, floss, and watch the sugar.”

But there was a gap. Even our most diligent patients, the ones who brushed perfectly, were still showing early signs of tooth damage.

That's when we realised we were ignoring the 90% of the day spent between brushings.

The coffee at 10 AM. The healthy fruit snack at 3 PM. The dinner date at 8 PM. Every one of these moments triggers an acid dip in your mouth's pH.

The search for a clean solution

We looked for products busy professionals could use to bridge this gap. What we found: mints loaded with artificial sweeteners that were acidic themselves, abrasive charcoal whitening pastes, and mouthwashes so strong they stripped away the good bacteria too.

As clinicians, we wanted better. So we stopped searching and started formulating. Drawing on our years in oral wellness education, we built products that are:
